Travel Designers is a travel and safari company based on Blue Bay Road in Watamu, Kenya. We plan, book and look after coastal holidays and safaris for guests from Kenya and around the world, and we give free tourist information to anyone who asks.
Our story
Born on the beach road
Watamu is a small place. Everyone here knows the captains who read the tide best, the driver who never misses a lion at Tsavo, and the guide at Gede who can make coral stone speak. We started Travel Designers to put that local knowledge at the service of visitors, honestly and without pressure.
Our positioning line says it plainly: making dreams come true, providing the best travel support. The first half is the fun part. The second half is the reason people recommend us, because support means answering the phone at midnight when a flight is delayed, rebooking a boat when the sea gets up, and knowing which clinic to call.
You'll find us at the King Lion Tours and Safaris premises on Blue Bay Road, where we share an office with our long-standing safari partners.

We work with community conservation groups at Mida Creek and Arabuko Sokoke and follow responsible wildlife watching rules at sea and on safari.

Directions, tide times, a doctor's number or where to eat tonight. Ask us. Advice has never been something we charge for.

We arrived with a vague idea of wanting 'some sea and some safari' and left with the best fortnight of our lives. Every pick-up was on time, every guide was excellent, and the WhatsApp replies at odd hours made us feel completely looked after.
As a Kenyan I have done the coast many times, but this was the first time someone actually planned it around my children. The turtle release was the highlight of their year. Honest prices, no pressure, and they know everyone in Watamu.
